The 6 commandments of social networking at work

While some IT leaders consider pulling the plug on social networking use, the tools do not have to be associated with Tila Tequila but, instead, there is a place for them within corporations -- just as long as you follow some simple rules.

The first commandment is "thou shalt present yourself respectfully and honestly." Another: "thou shalt remember we are still figuring this out."

"There are few hard-and-fast rules for effectively deploying social networks in a professional environment so far," Lisa Schmeiser writes. "But everyone must start somewhere: There's no point to being online if you can't make it work."
