Lights Out Database Management
It's days like today when the entire family is home sick(myself included) with a very nasty stomach virus that my thoughts turn to automated alerting and management. We would all like to take a sick day now and then and know that we'll still have a job when we get back, or that things at least won't blow up while we're gone.
I always think... am I catching every error I can? Am I dealing with it? Have I defined a backup contact?
I'll be writing more on this later, but frankly, I just don't feel like writing any more today. But ask yourself those questions and see if you're ready for your next sick day. Will your systems survive your absence?
