Burning iso's without spending bucks.
If you're tired of having to blow bucks on a copy of a 3rd party cd/dvd recorder software just to burn the occasional downloaded iso, take a look at this power toy...
The ISO Recorder is a program from Alex Feinman.com that takes advantage of the internal CD/DVD capabilities of Windows XP and extends it just a bit so that it can handle .iso images. So while I still have a full copy of the CD Recorder software (Nero, Roxio, etc) that came with some of my machines, I've still got a bunch of utility machines that aren't worth the extra bucks for a license. So take a trip to Mr. Feinman's site for a copy that actually also includes the x64 version and a command line version.

ImgBurn at www.imgburn.com is a good donate-ware tool for burning most image formats. Works great for whatever image format you happen to have, whether it's the latest IPCop ISO or the RAW rip of that Win2k3 Server CD that you keep losing.
Posted by: That Guy at July 5, 2006 05:49 AMThank you very much...I've now played with this for a couple weeks and so far NOTHING has gone wrong with ANY burns. I'm using a Sony DVD+-RW drive and it was especially nice to create a backup copy of my LongHorn beta since my original was getting a bit scratched up.
This is running on a Fry's Special AMD X2 machine (ECS Motherboard) under Windows XP Pro X64 and it's running just fine.
So I can really get behind "That Guy's" comment recomending imgburn.
