Leading from the Trenches | John West
Leading from the Trenches highlights news from the IT world, as well as opinion and advice, to help build more successful careers.
John E. West has been working on his career in tech since 1992. He's worked briefly in telecom and technology integration, but he's spent most of that time in supercomputing. In 2006 he was named to the annual "People to Watch" list by HPCwire, the leading news publication of the supercomputing industry. Right now John is the executive director of a top 20 supercomputing center for the federal government and is working on strategic communications for a large federal supercomputing initiative.
John holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering and an MS in Computational Engineering. He's the author of The Only Trait of a Leader, a field guide to success for new engineers, scientists, and technologists. He summarizes the HPC news headlines every day at insideHPC.com, and writes a weekly summary of interesting enterprise HPC news at InfoWorld's Enterprise Supercomputing Week in Review.
