Funambol announced that CA has licensed Funambol's mobile application server for use in its products targeted at managing smartphone devices in the enterprise.
Despite the fact that I still can't figure out how CA generates revenue (mainframe licensing? Unicenter?) they are making some interesting moves into open source. First with Ingres, now with Funambol. It's a definite win for Funambol to be able to get to those very large enterprise customers-and a win for open source any time a big company licenses a commercial open source product.
Hey Fabrizio--why I am not on your advisory board?
