SCO to Sell Unix Business?

Looks like SCO is preparing to sell off its Unix business for $36 million in order to stave off bankruptcy. Stephen Shankland has posted news over at CNet giving the details. The deal would give SCO some badly needed cash.

While most will interpret this as a last desperate act from a failing company, it's probably good news for long time SCO customers.

If the UNIX core business was sold, I suspect there would still be insufficient fund to pay the debt. SCO no longer matters and mentioning it gives the impression that it does. Every trace of this disgrace (SCO case) needs to be erased , except for the links showing where funds got funneled from and why. Time to focus on BayStar, Acacia and other suspicious parties.

What a complete mess those awful incoming people made of The Santa Cruz Operation.

Whereas it was once a slightly bumbling though ever effective prop to those who just didn't simply want to fall over in front of the combine harvester of NT, it is now a disgraceful example of unguided avarice without any remaining cultural foundation whatsoever.

Old Man Michels must be turning in his grave and Doug will be wincing when he recalls what almost was and might have been.
