In the PDF that section shows a bar off to the left, like it is still text undergoing editing and most likely was not meant to be released to the public:
It will be interesting to see how quickly that PDF gets changed by Apple now that it has been discovered.

Almost certainly just a typographical error. It's now been corrected to read "touchwheel" which makes a lot more sense in the context of the document.

I suspected as much, but it could also have been that that section was not supposed to be published yet (thus the editing mark to the left that was left in).
Personally, I think it was just an error, even though it did have the editing mark next to the paragraph. I definitely hope that there is not going to be a touch-screen ipod soon, because I just got an iPod video for Christmas, but have not opened it yet. If that touch-screen iPod is coming out in early 2007, I may return my iPod video. If I find out that the touch-screen iPod is not coming out till mid to late 2007, then I will just keep my iPod video. Please, if anyone knows anything, just post a comment on this site within the next couple of days, because I need to return my iPod on December 29th.

I had a speaker come to my school who said if you were to buy an iPod, wait until August. They're are coming out with a touchscreen. But I don't know if it's true.

A touchscreen might be the thing that gets me to buy an iPod. I've been resisting all these years. :)

I find it interesting that someone commented about the new touch-screen iPod being released in August, because recently a report was released about a touch screen supplier, Wintek, shipping touch screens to Apple for an August product release.
