David,

Still catching up on your 2007 podcasts, so I just caught this one. I agree with all the points you make in this week's cast. In fact, I would really like to see them in writing so I could quote you. I do have a challenge for you, however.

Point 6 talks about no one vendor and best of breed. Don't you think it makes sense to minimize your vendors and maximize simplification when taking on such a major initiative like SOA? So, my point is that you seem to be taking a contrary position to the "single vendor" view. I would promote selecting as few vendors as possible in order to simplify and minimize complexity.

Your first 2007 podcast talked about plain old web services or something like that. That seems to justify my point. If many people can't grasp that SOA is more than plain old web services, how can they possibly select best of breed among numerous tools then determine which will work best together?
