BPM and SOA

As I stated in my last post, today I'm down in Fort Lauderdale Florida, Weston Florida actually, speaking at the Shared Insights BPM conference. The topic is "What BPM Needs SOA, and Why SOA Needs BPM." They are recording this presentation, good thing, I forgot my digital voice recorder. I'll post it on the Podcast at some time in the future.

However, the highlight is that the use of the notion of BPM in context of SOA, or application integration for that matter, is not at all a new concept. Indeed, the core value of agility relies on the notion of a configurable process layer, thus one is dependent on the other. The services carry out the work, while the process layer forms the use of services into solutions (orchestration, chorography, etc.).

So, I'm among BPM people that are really SOA people, and perhaps don't know it. We'll see how the presentation is received.
