For years now, Infiniband technology has been trying to push its way into the datacenter. However, lately, it seems to be getting a name out there as a serious technology to help overcome some of the limitations that come with virtualization. One company making use of the technology is ScaleMP to help with their Versatile SMP architecture solution. Another company making announcements around the technology is Mellanox, a company that recently made available a 40 Gigabit per second Infiniband adapter.
